Deep Water Fishing

With the advancement in fishing technology and the ever changing water clarity, the demand to fish deeper has become a must. To make this happen, we are running full cores of lead, to 300' of copper and beyond. To run a successful spread you must get your bait presentation to run in diffrent parts of the water column. The most effective way to do that is by getting deep running presentations away from your boat and out of possible downrigger and diver bites way. The most common presentation now, but not limited to, is to run a flasher/fly combo. With these advancements in fishing, a reliable, quality board is a huge advantage for smoother fishing. To start a quality deep water presentation, you should have a 150'copper, or lead core equivalant, on your outside board. The outside board should always be your shallowest running board. Next, your middle board should be a deeper running line.EX. 200'-225' of copper or lead core equivalant. Your last board, or the closest one to the boat, should always be your deepest. Whether you run 300'-350 ' of copper, or a lead core equivalant. Running a pumphandle, a large weighted line, is also a real possibilty.The bait you choose to run on any board is entirely your choice.
